ClipPoint _4.5 Key Features:

• 90-degree spine for scraping fatwood and striking a ferro rod
• Permanent non-removable ergonomic orange G10 scales on the grip with hole for a lanyard
• Premium brown leather vertical belt carry sheath with 5/16" ferro rod loop – ferro rod included

The SlicKnives ClipPoint _4.5 ^TM is fashioned after the numerous historical clip point blades that moved west across the U.S. with hearty pioneers.  This tried-and-true blade shape helps its user accomplish all sorts of tasks from processing wild game in the field to prepping the veggies for the salad followed by slicing off a piece of perfectly done steak at dinner.

Designed in the U.S. and hand made from Sandvik Group Alleima 14c28n stainless steel by our expert knife making partners in Albacete, Spain, the ClipPoint _4.5 is tough with an edge that holds up and is easy to sharpen after use.  The 4.5” blade, comfortable full grip, and beautiful premium leather vertical carry sheath combine to make this blade a dream to have along for whatever ride presents itself.  And unlike the old-time original clip point blades, SlicKnives’ design has an ergonomic grip to protect the user from slipping forward onto the sharpened edge when the work gets slippery, which unfortunately, was a common injury associated with the early designs back in the day.

The ClipPoint _4.5 comes amazingly sharp out of the box with a high flat ground blade that melts into a full flat grind from the high point of the blade out to the tip and includes a secondary beveled edge for strength and long life.  Jimping has been included along the spine in front of the Ricasso for sure handling when the going gets tough.  And since it’s made with quality stainless steel, you won’t need to worry about the edge or blade corroding at the end of the day.

Orange G10 scales attached to the full-tang provides a hand-shaped foundation that gets even grippier when wet.  The non-removable scales are permanently mounted to the ClipPoint _4.5 with three stainless steel screws for durability and includes a buterola that’s ready to accept your lanyard for the occasions that call for added safety measures.  Additionally, the 90-degree spine is perfect for getting a fire started with the included ferro rod.

The premium hand-made leather sheath provides vertical belt carry and includes a loop to keep your ferro rod close at hand.  The dye on newly-made sheaths may become visible on the front part of the G10 grip in the area that grips the inside of the sheath creating a unique patina, however, it can be cleaned off easily and will fade with use as the sheath wears and ages.

SlicKnives is certain that you’ll be happy choosing this quality knife – try one today!

This Large Ferro Rod features a carbon steel striker with a long leather lanyard, so that it's always ready when needed!

The Large 6-inch Ferrocerium Rod will provide thousands of high-temperature sparks to help get your fire started.  Toss it in your pack or carry it around your neck for quick access when an urgent fire is required.

The large ferro rod does not fit SlicKnives sheaths.

Key Features:

• Provides thousands of sparks when being struck with the included carbon steel striker or via the back of a 90-spine of a knife
• Impervious to water, so that it’s always ready – just wipe it dry, lay dry tinder in your fire set, and strike it to get a fire roaring
• The multi-use striker is powder-coated black, includes a bottle opener, has a 50cm metric ruler for quick measurements, and scraper on one end
• The brown leather lanyard is long enough to be carried around the neck or can be used as cordage when needed

Caution - All commercially available ferro rods are coated with a protectant to prevent corrosion after they have been made.  Once the ferro rod has been scraped, the exposed iron in the rod will corrode over time when humidity or water is present.  A corroded ferro rod still works as a good fire starter, however, its rust can stain materials that are in contact with it.

SlicKnives suggests storing a used ferro rod separately from fabrics and leather sheaths to protect against rust stains.  A thin layer of petroleum jelly can help protect a used ferro rod's surface while being stored and is easy to wipe off when the ferro rod is needed to start the next fire.

Specifications:

Rod Length: 6" (152.4mm)

Rod Width: 1/2" (12.7mm)

Striker Length: 3” (76.2mm)

Diameter of the Looped Lanyard: About 16" (40+cm)

Length of Lanyard when Untied: About 32” (80+cm)

Lanyard Material: Brown Leather

Weight: 5.1 Oz. (145 g)

Imported from China

The Standard Ferrocerium Rod is designed to rain high-temperature sparks down on a fire set to help get things warmed up when in need.

This replacement rod fits all SlicKnives sheaths.  It does not include a new shock cord; please, use the originally-supplied shock cord received with your knife to loop it through the drilled hole to securely fit the ferro rod loop on your sheath.  Pick up any of the Standard Ferro Rods with installed shock cord for a direct fit.

Key Features:

• Provides showers of sparks when being struck with the 90-degree spine of a fixed blade knife
• Fits all SlicKnives Sheaths that feature a ferro rod loop

SlicKnives’ Kepper ₅ ^TM is part of our Premium SlicKnives series with a drop point blade profile based on Horace Kephart’s proven sheath knife that was part of his cutting tools ensemble discussed in his book, Camping and Woodcraft.  To be clear, the Kepper ₅ is not intended to be a clone of Horace Kephart’s knife – we just love the blade profile that he created and this is our take on his tried and true sheath knife.

Kephart’s classic sheath knife was developed over years of perfecting it while in the field.  Our Kepper ₅ embodies the proven capabilities that you expect from Kephart’s blade profile along with new features sure to make the Kepper ₅ one of your favorite fixed blade knives.  Take it with you and you’ll always have a blade that gets work done!

Designed in the U.S. and hand made from Sandvik Group Alleima 14c28n stainless steel by our expert knife making partners in Albacete, Spain, you’ll be able to rely upon its toughness with an edge that holds up and is easy to keep sharp.  The 5” blade length and comfortable grip will make it your go-to knife for various camp chores, processing game, and making dinner after a day in the field.

The Kepper ₅ comes super-sharp right out of the box with a full flat grind and a secondary beveled edge for strength and years of service.  We’ve included jimping along the spine in front of the Ricasso for positive handling during tough jobs.  Its 90-degree spine is perfect for shaving your fatwood onto your fire set prior to striking the included ferro rod to get your fire started.  And since it’s made with quality stainless steel, you won’t need to worry about the edge or blade corroding at the end of the day.

Brown linen micarta with a thin black liner next to the full-tang blade provides a grippy, hand-sculpted foundation that’s sure to please over a day’s work, even when it gets wet.  The hand-fitted non-removable ergonomic grip is mounted to the Kepper ₅ with three sets of stainless screws for durability and includes a buterola that’s ready for you to install a safety cord / lanyard or brightly colored length of paracord for improved visibility if you so choose.

You’ll love the premium dark brown leather sheath made by Cudeman to protect your Kepper ₅ keeping it at the ready for the next task.  The quality hand-made sheath allows for vertical belt carry.  The sheath also includes a loop to carry your ferro rod that we’ve included, so that you have one close at hand when you need to build a fire quickly.

SlicKnives is positive that you’ll be happy with this quality knife – pick one up to round out your cutting tool ensemble today!

SlicKnives' leather dangler is stout and it is designed to quickly attach or detach from the user's belt without having to unbuckle the belt thanks to a couple of secure snaps.  Additionally, this sheath adapter includes two stainless steel sheath loop attachment options depending on the user' preferences: one that offers a more-controlled vertical carry or the other that allows for the ultimate in positioning flexibility.
