Introduction - First SlicKnives Models Now Available

Thanks for swinging by – I appreciate it!  I’d like to take a quick moment to introduce myself and to share a bit about why I founded SlicKnives.

After a couple of decades supporting my customers in the data and advertising/marketing realms, it was time for a personal change and new focus heading into May of 2024.  The time to leverage my years of business experience and knowledge obtained from working with numerous entrepreneurs through the years had arrived.  It was time to set up my own business, but what kind of business…

Being a long-time fisherman, hunter, campcraft/bushcraft enthusiast, and serious fan of all types of knives starting waaay back with my first Swiss Army knife that I bought with my own money when I was nine years old, knives kept surfacing as I contemplated business ideas.  As I used knives for a variety of tasks throughout the years, I always made notes about the blades that bubbled to the top of my top knives list and with some that were so close to being my kind of perfect, I would sketch out what I thought would be an improved version for some sort of future reference.  I love knives and still have my first SAK, btw!

SlicKnives it is, then!  Since I’m not an experienced knife maker myself and have a ton of respect for those that do, I approached a cherry-picked list of quality global manufacturers that caught my eye with their own blades and that have proven success over recent decades about bringing my original designs to life.  I want to hit the ground running with high-quality blades and this approach allows me to leverage my well-established global manufacturing partners’ knowledge, engineering expertise, and production networks to bring my unique high-quality blades to the U.S. market for a fair price.

My first round of three original SlicKnives designs are inspired by classic American fixed blades – the Kepper ₅, the Hunter ₅, and the Curve _4.5.  They have been honed with my manufacturing partner in Spain and are fabricated by amazing craftspeople using tough stainless steels to hold up well across a wide range of tasks.  The first release is now available with more exclusive designs dropping in 2025!

The first round of distinctive FlicKnives and SlipjointKnives folding knives have been developed with my high-quality production partner in Taiwan and are expected to drop in March/April 2025.  These are solid full-size folders built to take on tough daily chores.
