SlicKnives’ understands that the best way to retain a keen edge at all times is to maintain and reestablish the knife’s edge while using the knife.  We’ve brought EZE-LAP's slim USA-made 2-sided diamond and ceramic pocket-sized knife sharpening stone with leather sheath together with green stropping compound for an effective 3-grit honing bundle that can be tossed into a pocket for quick access. 

The best way to use the stropping capability of the included leather sheath is use the plain leather surface or by applying the green compound to the back side of the sheath without the sharpening stone inside for a smooth, even application.  Place the sheath compound side up on a solid flat surface to begin stropping, or if no flat surface is immediately available, reinsert the sharpening stone back inside the sheath for a flat surface to strop while in hand.  Safely strop the blade with the edge a few times on each side of the blade while moving it at the same angle with the edge. 

Do not strop against the edge as you do when sharpening with a stone - always strop in the direction of the edge.  Please, take precautions to avoid getting gritty particles embedded in the applied stropping compound to help protect your blade's edge.
