SlicKnives’ founder has spent years camping, hunting, fishing, and just enjoying the outdoors.  While entering the field with a sharpened knife is easy to plan, honing the edge of a well-used knife between successful hunts or while sitting around the campfire between jobs on a long expedition is paramount to having an enjoyable adventure.

The best way to be prepared for honing a knife in the field is to have the proper kit along for the ride.  SlicKnives has brought readily available brand-name products together into this easy-to-pack bundle that doesn’t take up much space, so that our customers have the knife sharpening equipment necessary to handle sharpening duties while living life to the fullest.

SlicKnives’ guided Hone on the Go knife sharpening bundle has been put together to handle a wide range of sharpening tasks while in the field.  DMT’s diamond-stone guided sharpening system combined with Lansky’s Leather Stropping Hone provides a portable package needed to bring knife edges up to snuff after a day’s hard work while being away from a full sharpening kit at home. 

 

Components included with this guided Hone on the Go knife sharpening bundle:

  • DMT® Aligner™ Deluxe that includes:
    • Adjustable non-marring handheld angle guide
    • Three 4" Diamond Whetstones™ that do NOT require oil:
      • Coarse diamond stone (45 micron / 325 mesh) – start here if edge is neglected or damaged
      • Fine diamond stone (25 micron / 600 mesh)
      • Extra-fine diamond stone (9 micron / 1200 mesh)
    • Fine diamond tapered rod for sharpening blade serrations
    • Fabric storage pouch
  • One additional DMT® 4" Diamond Whetstone™ that does NOT require oil to expand sharpening and honing capabilities of the overall bundle to include four diamond stone grits:
